Black History Month 2024
Jack Leslie Campaign: Black History Month 2024
It is important to acknowledge black history every month but we are always happy to present a range of activities for Black History Month each October, and 2024 will be no exception!
October 2023 was a very successful Black History Month- see our review here
Last October included a presentation of an honorary England cap to Jack’s family at Wembley, and this year we will be back at Wembley talking about Jack for the England game on October 10th!
And last year saw the publication of Matt Tiller’s definitive biography of Jack Leslie- The Lion who never roared. Matt has attended numerous literary and history events, and will be busy promoting the book and talking about Jack’s story this month.
The Campaign would like to see copies of the book in libraries and schools across the Country, and are looking for a commercial sponsor to help with that- if interested, do get in touch!
2024 Events include:
07 October- presentation at Lyndhurst School, Camberwell, London
10 October – Campaign and Jack Leslie family members take part in BHM event at Wembley Football Stadium
