UNVEILING

The Jack Leslie Statue will be unveiled outside Home Park on Friday 7th October at Midday

Anyone can come to Home Park to see the event, but there will be a priority area for major supporters, VIPs including Jack’s family, and those who selected the ‘unveiling’ reward on Crowdfunder in return for a £100 donation. If you would like join them you can make the same donation and email us to ensure you are on the list.

THE CEREMONY

Please arrive by 11:30am

The event will begin at Midday and should last no longer than half an hour.

There will be a series of short speeches from The Jack Leslie Campaign, Jack’s family and Argyle Legend and campaign supporter Ronnie Mauge. Spoken word artist, Big Scoop, will also perform his powerful tribute, Unsung Hero.

The statue itself will be unveiled by Jack’s granddaughters Lesley, Lyn and Gillian.

It’s the club’s most successful start since 1929, the season when Jack Leslie and his teammates went on to win promotion, and the Plymouth Argyle Men’s Squad and Management will be in attendance along with the Women’s team.

Plymouth Argyle legends Dwight Marshall and Mike Trebilcock, who was the first Black player to score in the FA Cup with Everton in 1966, will join us alongside other names from the sport and representatives of football organisations including the FA, EFL, PFA and FSA.

Once the statue has been revealed, there will be time to admire it and for media to conduct interviews.

Invited guests will then be guided through to the Green Taverners for a reception where there will be a presentation telling Jack’s story and that of the campaign, followed by Q&As with Lesley, Lyn and Gillian, sculptor Andy Edwards, Ronnie Mauge and Dwight Marshall.
